The 6.0L maybe not so much..

The answers are what I was kind of thinking.. I don't want to pay over $20,000 for a truck, then have to pull the heads, EGR, inter cooler, etc... just to drive it..

I will be towing maybe 3,000 miles per year, and not many bad hilly drives..

Most likely going with the 07 Dodge..

Chris..

Go with the 07 cummins. It's your best option.

I'm not trying to take Tireman's side here, but he can just invest the $3-4k he would have spent on studs, new HG, EGR delete, and new oil cooler (and also the $3k lower asking price) and invest in a built tranny.

Considering stock trucks dont need studs, my tuned truck doesnt need studs. Invest in an EGR delete, new oil cooler, coolant flush, rebuild your FICM for ***** and giggles, and let her rip. That is going to cost less than a built trans. Either way your going to dump a couple grand just a matter if you want the dodge or the ford

fuel injection control module. You don't have to do anything with that until a problem arises, you can get them fixed pretty cheap now though. I wouldn't really worry about it.
