it can always fit, as long as you are ok with cutting/ relocating things. While we are suggesting other trucks, the older 87-96 bodystyle has tons of room in it, i also took my inner fenders out so i can work on the engine from the sides, almost like an 18 wheeler with a tilt hood.

i think a 4bt would be cool, but since they never put them in a pickup truck, when you find one, you still wont have the parts you need. I bought a 91 dodge truck for 1900, literally had everything i needed, the only thing i bought for the swap was new dodge motor mounts, about 25 bucks. the way i see it, a 6bt ends up being cheaper.

You could look for an old box truck. bread van. There are alot of those out there with 4bt diesels in them. I know a guy here local that as bought a few for his conversions. He strips them of their drive train, then cuts up the body,(usually aluminum) and the body just about pays for the purchase price of the van.( depending on what scrap is paying at the time).
