What's a crank, pistons (if within spec, still need to check em) and the rest of the rotating assembly for a 6bt worth these days? Crank will be freshly ground.

I also have a block that has a cracked exterior water jacket. can get that fixed for about 300. What's that work with a fresh hone on 'er, all cleaned up?

I ask because come spring I have access to a running, driving, lowish mileage (280,000km) 6bt for 900 bucks. I can't see the point in keeping what I have when I have better for what really is a negligible charge.

 

Would be worth about 1K ... Give or take .. if you had to buy or machine a bunch of stuff .. value is gonna go down...

Wouldn't the value on a fresh ground crank be higher than that of an unknown mileage unground crank?

 

if its been freshened up .. typically its been maged too ... means safe .. I have gotten cranks that were new .. had them maged out of the crate .. Cracks and Fishures found from factory ..

Thats why all the parts I buy .. need to have them checked before I send or hand over cash/payment ..
