Default chip 99 7.3

hey guys my buddy has 99 7.3 with manual, idk much about fords so bare with me. what is a good chip to get like 5o -60 horse without losing milage? are chips hard to install on them, or can you get a tuner that plugs into the obd2? thanks!

should search through here. alot of people have alot of different prefferences. depending on what kind of driving the truck is used for. i would do a 6637 intake and a free flowing exhaust with some gauges. if he needs more power look for a dp tuner chip or tony wildman or php. like i said theres alot of different preferences for alot of different people

get a chip from swamps, beans, PHP,wildman, grear head. pull the PCM clean the contacts on it and install the chip. they are not very hard to install at all.
