DPF delete question
#22
I talked to a guy yesterday and he said he works on these trucks with the DPF. He said he takes it off and runs a staight pipe. He aslo says he reprograms the computer so the check engine light does not come on and so the emmissions check will not detect no faults. Another thing he said was this improves the MPG and that this DPF was the worst thing that could have happened to the newer diesel engines.
What you think?

get rid of the egr ,took mine off last night and installed the tuner and block offs ,my 5"turbo back showed up today,my intake took me longer to clean the crap out of it then it did to hook up the tuner,my intake horn was full of soot and the grid heater was almost plugged with soot

I want to convert my 6.7 into a 5.9 exhaust system. I will take off the DPF and have the computer to the vehicle reprogrammed to the specification of the 5.9. Another words, my truck will have a staight pipe and blow all that soot out like it was intended to. I was talking to a dealer rep yesterday and he said this was the best thing for this type of vehicle. The trick was you have to find someone who has the equipement to reprogram the computer so that everything is fine with the emmisions.

sectionchief you scare me...
order a tuner (h&s or Smarty)
order a delete pipe or a tbe 5.9 exhaust
order an egr delete kit
install the exhaust, and egr deletes
install the programmer
keep your tune between 60 and 100hp (if you get a smarty keep the revo settings stock especially on the torque)
fueling shouldnt be an issue.
Tranny... depends on how you drive, depends on which one you have
I roasted my stock clutch in the first week (because nobody told me what i told you earlier)
auto seems to be stouter, however overdrive clutches seem to have issues as well (h&s makes an overdrive tune to help here.)
