Maybe it'd be easier to resell it with the canned!? I don't know it was never a concern of mine, I have an older X2 myself, never really saw the need to hold canned tunes, but it's more of a personal thing... I would have got an SF3 if the opportunity came up!? Either one, doesn't matter, they hold the same custom stuff.
Ok the only reason I was asking is my buddy just got the livewire and that thing is huge, I dont care for it and I saw MKM offered the SF3 in a package with the edge insight module to use as gauges to monitor everything instead of the livewire module.... But they didnt offer it with the X3 so i didnt know if i was missing something about the X3. So with that package I get the best of both worlds the looks of the edge display and the performance of SCT.

Have you ever heard of a superchip cortex tuner? The reason i ask is one of my contractor friends has one of those plus a in dash gps system that will fit my truck for 350 for the pair. I priced the gps for it they arnt cheap. Dont know much about the cortex other than it can boost hp on the 6.0 by over a hundred but thats not my main concern.

fatboyslim, not sure how else to make this anymore clear....

SCT OR NOTHING. That's my opinion, and the same opinion of most guys on the forums. I would run away from the superchips.

$350 may seem like a good deal... how much did you pay for your truck? $15k? $20k? $30k? I know when I got mine it was over $30k... so saving $100 here on a tuner doesn't seem very smart, knowing full well the damage that will most likely ensue from using that superchips. What a rebuilt transmission cost again?

Just something to drive this point home a little further. I was just reading the new Diesel Power mag and it has the diesel power challenge in it. 3/4 of the fords in it are running SCT programmers with innovative tunes. Kind of says something for that combination.

Do yourself a favor, look at the topics page in the top rh corner where is says page 1 0f 83 or whatever. click on the last page button and work your way backwards, you will find the answers to almost any question you can think up. When you get back to page 1 if you still dont have an answer, post your question. You will save yourself a ton of grief, if you dont believe me go ahead a throw out the next newguy question.....it goes like this. "Hey I got this buddy with a Dodge, you know with a cummings in it. He has an aluminum trash can for a stack and he makes a ton of BLACK SMOKE. How do I make my truck smoke like that? Has anyone ever heard of a smoke switch? How do I do that?" There are guys on here that can and will answer all your questions, just understand some have aswered the same question a hundred times. Mdub has the patience of a saint!!!!!!

Hey man, I didn't mean to come off like a d!ck head, just wanted to drive the point home. I think you have your answer now. Sometimes we just get guys who come on ask our opinion about a tuner, and then just keep asking the same questions over and over and over, until they get the answer they wanted to hear in the first place, whether it's right or wrong. Just don't want this to turn into that. Take our answers for what they're worth. At the end of the day not one single programmer will suit the needs of everyone (though I might argue that in the case of the 6.0) so it's still just our opinion. It's your call at the end of the day, all we can do is just answer the questions asked.

Agreed, no need to be sorry and no need for apologies, we know you're new here, sometimes guys just need answers beat into their heads a little harder.
