If you get the whole set-up off the pick-up you should be able to get to the ball;to be able to hit it better. on taking it to a machine shop,it would probably be cheaper to buy a new hitch.

That company sells just the drop in ball. If you live in trailer country your local parts store can probably get you one.

Just go all out like me...
My ball is welded to a 1" thick steel plate that spans the wheelwells and is bolted through to a fully boxed frame.

well to be honest i like the idea of being able to flip it over when you need it and hide it when you dont....plus i dont have a trailer for it anyway..i just want it work....im not a big fan of things that don't work....kind of like my starter issues im having right now

Turn the pin 1/4 turn to the left, then pull. Easy, wasn't it?

yeah i got the pin pulled out ....now the ball part of the hitch won't come out for nothing....

Thats true but either way i bet it doesnt pull like it should!!!

poor people have poor...i should know cause im a local member of the poor boy commity

pull the lock pin go under the truck with a 4"x4" block of wood place it on top of a hy. jack and jack it up by the ball about 2"or3" off the ground and let it sit over the weekend. if that don't work pull the whole thing out and get a new one and put in right . with it being a shortbed you will want this. B&W 4085 Gooseneck Extender for the turnover ball hitch
