It will only take a few hand tools to get the hitch off. Sockets and a few wrenches.

I dont think a vice would be needed either. You could lay the hitch on a table or sawhorses then use a hammer to drive the ball out. If the hitch was out in the open you can really soak it good with some oil. Also, being out in the open, you can take a bigger swing with the hammer too.

Can you get a jack under the truck and jack the truck up some, using the ball as a lift point ?
If you put pressure on the ball from underneath while pecking on the side of the ball with a hammer maybe ? Just make sure the locking pin has been released...

WooooHooooo.......I got the pin out !!! now i just have to get the ball to come up....all i did was pull on it REALLY HARD i guess all the PB Blast and other oils i used broke it free......now to pull the ball up..... i think this is going to be the hard part....and i guess if i can get the ball out of the socket i will more then likly move the whole hitch back to where it should be.....i mean hell the holes are already in the bed...why not make it right

mine did this to me just not as bad. it was sitting in the dirt for a few years. and on the early super duty's there are the forward setting and the rear setting. but i could turn the cross plate around and have the handle on the passenger side with out the ball going forward or back.

Just another up date on the hitch in my bed.....the pin pulls fine but that dang thing is stuck in there tight.....im almost ready to chalk it up as a lost cause.... believe it or not i actually picked up the rear of the truck with a winch hooked to it (about an inch) and beat on the ball with a BFH and still nothing!!!!

yeah im thinking the same thing....i wonder if the comany sells just the drop in ball part of the hitch ? ? ? and im also wondering how many tanks of gas and oxygen its going to take to cut that part out.....or is it even possible to just cut out the ball.....

an other option i guess could be to take the hitch off the truck and take it to a machine shop and see if they could press it out or mill it out? ?? what ya guys think about that? ?
