Default Steering issues

I tried to search for an answer so if this has been asked, just point me in the right direction. I just bought a 99 F350 PSD. My issue is when you slow down to turn the steering gets real tight and acts like it has no power steering. It is hard to steer unless you have some pressure on the gas pedal. Any ideas??? Sensor maybe?? I am wanting to get it fixed so it will be easier to back the camper into campsites. We are new to the Ford world/Diesel world. This is our first for both!! Thanks for any help!!
