Injection Relay Issues
Howdy Folks,
I have been experiencing some issues with my fuel pump relay located beyond the air filter and turbo. Upon replacing / relocating the PMD prior issues were resolved. About a week after that she would not start right up in the morning, it took about 10 minutes of cranking -- no partially combusted fuel just the alternator cranking. Finally I got her to turn over but the motor sounded much higher pitched, louder, and 'mechanically rough' and of course a check engine light (I need to check the codes) I did some digging on the issue and found the fuel pump relay may be the culprit. Sure enough I swapped this bad boy out and no more issues.
However... This morning I felt a very slight jerk and the check engine light came on so I pulled over, turner her off and went to crank and same issue with delayed cranking... I unplugged the relay waited a few minutes turned her over and still same issue. After getting home I turned her off and back on and no issues!
I believe I must have some sort of electrical issue within the injection system -- does anybody have any input on why the fuel pump relay will go bad, continuously?
Thanks guys

The glow plugs seem to be fine. I had intermittent random shut offs before I replaced / relocated the PMD but no issues with that since.
I have not any issues since my last post (knock on wood).. I am just looking to track down what is down line from the relay
Thanks for the response

As for 94-98 12v Cummins I don't know much about those.
