well idk what the situation was on it if ya bought it or somebody else did but 7.3's are great. with 99 there is a difference between early and late 99. someone else can elaborate on that. there might even be a bulletin on the site with the info but they're great trucks.

there ya go...that tells u the difference between the early and late. to be honest ive never even read it so i guess now is a good time......

 

it looks like i'd go for late. only drawback i saw from a quick glance is the tranny cooler in radiator on late 99 which just sucks but that can be changed

 

However - I've seen a lot of 6.0's that seem okay and have used one (left with us by in-laws) and they are nicer in every way. Power, noise, suspension, turning ratio and built-in trailer brake control. They use more or the same amt of diesel as the 7.3 in the manual versions.

 

6.0's can be scary because with some of the problems you just dont know. for best results i believe 06-07 model year i believe

 

If I were to go out right now and buy a newer truck it would be a 2007- 6.0 or a 2009 6.4...

If it were me...

I would also trade my left nut for a White with Blue stripe CCLB OBS with Blue interior... ahhhhhhhh...
