2001 u joints

have a 2001 f350 4x4 that needs the front axle u joints replaced.can i pull the axle shafts out thru the steering knuckles or do i have to take the knuckles off at the ball joints to get at the shafts? thanks

when you put the axle shafts back in. make sure you don't knock out the inner seals.

When I pull mine for hub seals, I remove the diff. cover. Gives me a view from both sides of the tube.
