Got a new project going on. i just bought a 2001 Excursion 4x4 limited 245,000 miles, and i have a 2001 f250 fresh motor 60K with bts trans, injectors, gt38r, head studs etc.... I want to pull the motor and trans out of the F250 and swap with the excursion. I know everything is the same between the two. Is there any tips, steps tricks etc. that you can help me with. Thanks in advance!

 

Its common practice for shops to lift the cab when doing major engine work on these Superduties. That won't be easy on the Excursion. Maybe plan on tearing the whole nose off both trucks to give you room to work.

Plan on changing axles or ratios too... PSDs usually have 3.73 and gas Ex's often have 4.30.
