Just a ? If it was a compression issue, would that make the truck hard to start?

It could... But it also makes the truck easy to turn over... My motor right now has between 320 and 340 which is low... starts right up!

well, today on the way home from work it didn't do it near as much as some days. would it not smoke all the time if it was rings? Also it doesn't smoke at all while cruising down the interstate only on take offs.

Have you checked the turbo play? Remove the intake tube and grab the wheel... Should be a little bit of up and down, but next to no in and out...

I will check on that, I know it doesn't have much to no up and down but didn't try the in and out. thanks will check it out asap

Went and looked at it and tried pulling on it and had zero movement in and out and barely none up and done either. Any possibility it could be a wiring harness issue on the valve cover. Or would I have a code or check engine light if some wiring was shorting or such. I ask because went I installed the new injectors the second injector from the front on the driver side seemed to act a lil funny for a bit while I had the valve covers off. I would unplug and plug in the connector for that injector and no change on truck, Then I would after a bit of idling off and on. I ordered the ae and hope to have it in a few days and plan on doing a compression test if I can find a kit to do it with. Kinda broke at the moment and wife is gonna kill me if I put anymore money into this truck

anyone know if the kit at harbor freight is the right one for our trucks?

You have to make an adapter to work with the harbor freight one... I made one had plan on having a write up soon...

a nice write up would be sweet. I noticed something about it today while driving. It only smokes while giving the truck throttle, is this any more clue to what it could be. I was just thinking that if it was a compression issue it wouldn't have to do with only smoking while giveing her throttle. I have no smoke while coasting, or on deceleration at all.

CSIPSD think he might have Piston ring issues? Thats what it sounds like to me? can't wait to see the compression numbers. and if it's a possible injector issue? should he check for fuel pressure to see if it holds pressure? <--- Not joking right now nor causing an insult.
