Hey fellas I have a 97 Cummins 5speed 4x4 and I do have the fuel plate removed. My question is when Im taking off in either 1st or 2nd I will get some cutting out and white smoke. But then when you hit 3rd gear its fine power comes on strong and no cutting out or white smoke. Is this from having the fuel plate removed? It does it real bad when the engine is cold but still does it some after its reached operating temp. I pretty sure the white smoke is raw fuel so maybe a lack of air in the lower gears is the cause. your thoughts?.... Thanks fellas....

 

Sounds liked slipped timming.

 

I agree. Check timing

 

Check timing and make sure you have proper fuel pressure

 

Ok thanks fellas Ill Have to do that. I was wanting to have the timing bumped anyway might be a good time to do that I guess.
