Default 7.3 Problem!!!!

So when I was goin down the freeway with cruise set and it cuts out. It does it when u have your foot in it too. It just shut it down until you take your foot out of it and hammer back down. These happen just spontaneous and if you let it idle down then it is really rough and it died on me twice. I've had a throttle problem before like 2 years ago and it was the wiring harness inside the valve cover. Had anybody ever had this problem?

It has cold air, tw chip, and exhaust

it might be a problem with your cruise. i'm not sure how the UVCH would cause a problem with cruise. but to be safe, check out the VC gaskets. look where the main engine harness plugs in and see if it's melted. the intermintant rough idle could be a loose injector wire. how many miles are on the truck?

ok. it could be a lose wire. check your engine harnes where it crosses. sometimes the plastic jacket cracks and the wires chafe right there. the 100k tells me it shouldn't be a bad injector. now when you lose power does everything totally shut down? something like this happened on my 94. it ended up being the crappy jack crank handle would slide into the positive battery terminal and would create a dead short. but it would only last 2 seconds, tops. so check for bare wires and check your fuses too.

Sweet. That's probably my problem then. Because I ran by the local dealer today to see if it threw some codes but all it said was loose battery connection or engine block ground. Or something along those lines.

But wait, maybe not. Cause it doesn't shut everything down. The check engine light comes on and the wait to start but they go right back away when I have my throttle back

ok you may not realize it completely shuts down because it happens so fast. and when you're in gear the RPMs will not go to zero. theck the main power cable that's connects to your starter. it could be loose and be grounding to the starter housing.

I would run a scanner on the truck, see if it stored a code....
