Does the tach move?

 

Perhaps.. but the truck only had 130k miles and ran excellent. I outran the same exact truck but it was an automatic and a v10.

I can shift just fine.

The throws on the zf6 are HUGE. But it wasn't made as a racing transmission, it's a heavy-duty work-tranny.

 

the throws on the ZF6 compared to the ZF5 are about the same. the 5 slides into gear much nicer IMO. I do like the 6 for towing better tho. even tho i very rarely use low. going from 4th to 5th i don't need to take it to 3k before i shift.

 

I have a 95 powerstroke with a down pipe and a 6 pos chip. It's not a fast truck be any means but I do pull a 35' fifth wheel that weights almost 15000 pounds. If you want fast get a sports car something with two seats. I wanted fast so I'm building a 550 hp datsun 240z that will waste any truck. Oh by the way it's only a 2.6 litter motor. I do how ever like my truck it does well for what I use it for. Great truck.

My early 94 4x4 7.3 long bed with an extra cabin hauls and burns rubber on the flats and its stock but when I go up a pass like the cajon pass out here in cali it dogs and dogs ! any ideas to get more performance ?

If its early 94 then unfortunately its idi and can't be chipped

 

shoot thanks for catching that! There was like 3 motors in '94 iirc... the idi, the turbo 7.3, and the n/a 7.3 or something like that. dontk now much abotu those old ones.


EDIT: According to his sig it's a turbo.. so I think it's a powerstroke...
