Guys:

My truck runs well, except for two things.

1: previous owner was a fucknut and snapped a glow plug off in the head, then cut the wire back by the firewall to hide it. I hate him. Because its missing one the plugs cycle far too quickly. However, I'm guessing when its 90F out I'll be ok. I can deal with it in the fall.

2: previous owner at one point cut the fuel lines to put a shitty electric booster pump in. It died, so he jumped the two cut ends with soft fuel line. The line was leaky and cracked, letting the fuel system backdrain out onto my driveway. This means if I haven't touched it in a day, it takes a solid 20-30 seconds of cranking to get the lines repressurized. Well, I replaced the line with fresh soft line. Same issue.

can I run soft line anywhere in the fuel system by the tanks? Or MUST it be rigid line without any exceptions ever? If I can (and I don't have obvious fuel leaks), do I need to do the check valves somewhere near the injector pump?

OK, good to know non-hard line is acceptable. Then I would place my issue somewhere on top of the motor in the injector pump area.

Thanks, I'll start fussing with that. Just as soon as I get the rusted out bed off...and fix the radiator support...and finish the rear brakes...and make sure the frame is indeed straight. Ugh!
