Default 7.3 hard start situation

I've got a 2000 7.3 and I have just replaced the glow plugs and glow plug solenoid and I'm still having cold start problems. It will crank hard and I hear the solenoid kick and everything. I'm starting to wonder if it's fuel related. If I plug the truck in it runs fine but if I don't it fights hard to start. Any help would be appreciated thanks

I've had the same problem with my 99 I changed all that also and the heat element still had that problem every time it went below 40 deg i just plug it in and that how i sold the truck. the guy i sold it to say its injectors he had the same luck had to plug it in

I can remember the International's i had for work all did the same thing in the winter

guess what i'm saying is plug it in and you'll never have a a cold start problem
sorry I have no real solution for your situation

hi guys, am new to this site. my 99 7.3 starts hard also since i live in indy cold weather. I just push throttle to the floor let glow plugs go off and crank till it starts. runs rough for 30 seconds or so then idles up like it should. Am going to check under valve covers this wknd to see if harness is tight. will do 25 cent fix on connector.

I cycle the key on and off three to four time letting the chamber heat up then I start her and usally depending on how cold it is fires up with minimal trouble. I did have one time that was bad it was -5 with a - 30 windchill.

I have a 2000 f350 I put new glow plugs I. About two years ago and I just checked my relay. I'm getting 10 volts going to my glow plugs but it's still takes a few times of trying before it starts and when it does I have a lot of white smoke out the trail pipe. Any ideas
