Trans Trouble?!

Naw I wont sit here and talk down on anyone or their products. That just aint right to do. I feel our stuff speaks for itself through our customers. I encourage you to speak to as many people running various brands as you can. Even though it may sound cocky, I'm sure that when your done we'll be one of the ones you narrow it down to.

i have a goerend and love it. Garrett from Pure Diesel Power (a Vendor here) has a Goerend in his pulling truck and he beats the ever living crap out of that truck and it keeps on ticking, IIRC he broke both driveshafts at the same time, cracked the transfer case's housing, almost ripped the rear brake backing plates off the rearend housing and went through a few differentials in the rear.... tell me that ain't transfering the power to the wheels......
Darren Morrison and Phil Palmer are good friends of mine that live a few miles down the road from me and they run Suncoast trannys, Phillip is the driver of Stucky Racing's green machine and a current world record holder in the diesel community. that right there says alot about suncoast.
what it all boils down to is personal preference. i made my own choice and i'm happy with it. i feel i'd be just as pleased if i had gone with a suncoast tranny.

Wow, you'll have to excuse my last posts as I was half asleep. I thought I typed more than that. LOL
Anyhow, let me explain since I failed to do so properly the first time:
Its hard to make a comparison to our transmissions and converters. Ours compared to stock is like comparing apples and oranges. The part I was trying to convey incoherently was that I didnt want to compare ours to anyone else's because I didnt want to come across as claiming "we're better than so and so". Everyone in our market works hard at what they do.
As far as our products go, all weak points are addressed in both converter and tranny. We junk anything we feel may be a possible breaking point or we find a way to reinforce it. For example the fins on the turbines in our converters are reinforced. We have seen some from other companies that were not, or were done improperly leading to catastrophic failure. Really this all the stuff we advertise right on our website, which is why I suggested getting info from various people with various brands. You cant beat real world first hand experience.
Benjamin-
Thats pretty cool that you know both Morrison AND Phil. Yea we're pretty proud of the guys over at Stucky Racing. Theres pictures of that truck all over the place in the shop. Them boys have worked their *** off to get that truck to where its at.
And your right, when it all comes down to it its a matter of preference.
Again I apologize for my incoherent as hell statements.

but back to the subject at hand, see if you can find a few guys local (maybe a couple hours drive) that have aftermarket tranny's. maybe you can find some guys here that are local and go for a ride / drive the trucks and see how you like it. i rode in one of Darren's customers trucks that had a Suncoast in it. the only thing that would have impressed me more was if it had more traction
the main reason I bought Goerend was the warranty.
Goerend Transmission Incorporated
This transmission comes with our limited 3 year/100,000 mile warranty. The torque converter has a limited lifetime warranty.

Well when i get a new trans it's gonna be a Goerends.
Why?
Well i put one in a fellow chapter members 3rd gen on a Saturday and had some issues with the line pressures. So we called Dave on Saturday more than once and he answered the phone every time. Walked us through the fix. What other company's can you call the owner on a Saturday and they answer?
Plus everyone that i know that has one has zero complaints or problems.

go aftermarket get biggest bang for the buck with a good warranty. I did mine the wrong way and it took a year to get it right but think it was converter the whole time 50 bucks shipping a 400 for r & r with a fluid flush and I was good to go but cost me more changing parts than if I had just called dave or suncoast or hts etc and all the time on my back and smelling like burnt fluid
