05 12v swap
A friend of mine has a 05 RCLB cummins 6speed the motor is blown up and in pieces. I have a 95 RCLB auto that I rolled is there any reason I can't put the 12v in the 05?
It will work fine just as long as you don't have emission testing in your county. Im just finishing up this swap. The hardest part is making the motor mounts. You will also need a 2nd gen exhaust system to work with the manifold set up. Other than that its a bolt together swap.
Hey White93,
Could you explain why there is a problem with putting an older diesel in a newer model truck. Do the emission laws say that you can't or is it just harder to get the older engine to meet the requirements of the new model. I have an 05 topkick with a blown duramax and would like to swap a cummins to the Allison1000 tranny. I think for my situation I need to be legal. Does this mean I can use a cummins as long as its 05 or newer? Or can I use an older one with some additional emmisions equipment
, or is that not
an option? (I know that most don't care about the emmisions) Any information on this or where I might find it would be greatly appreciated.
