With the holidays upon me I didn't want to start the pump install and then get interupted. I did not have to source the pump. What he charges for the core is insignificant, I think he said the core came from Poland. I expect it to smoke pretty bad until I upgrade the turbo, otherwise the performance should be spectacular. Mileage has never been stellar. I'm averaging 16-17mpg around town. Multiple reasons for this but mostly because I drive all my vehicle's like I stole them. A conservative driver could probably squeeze out 18-19 around town. The 300d this came out of got 22mpg. The biggest hindrance is the aerodynamics of the Jeep, you can REALLY feel the wind resistance.

These pumps are basically infinitly adjustable, have you attempted any adjustments? i made a tool for doing the full load adjustments a while back when a 617 went into a toyota more than enough fuel in the stock pump to melt the bottom end. Proved it in a 616

Huh? I don't even know where to begin. How much research have you done on this subject? Any experience with German Bosch injection pumps? Do you know the relationship between injection duration and EGT? You cannot just "turn these pumps" above about 170hp without extremely high EGTs due to injection duration. If it was possible me and the entire Mercedes community would be doing it instead of shelling out good money for custom elements. This conversation could get interesting.

to keep this short. Ive done a ton of research, and ive put it to practical use. Yes injection duration and egts become the practical limit. If you look at the charts on governor behavior in the pump its easy to spot easily corrected issues (slow fuel rise, high rpm fuel reduction, and yes maximum fuel delivery). If you want to go crazy enjoy your pump i didnt come here to argue with you. I was a part of the mercedes community for a long time. Built a turbo 616 and like i said prepared a pretty nasty (and safe) 617 to go in a toyota pickup. In the end the 616 was sacrificed to find what we felt was the safe amount of fuel we could run through the 617. that was 4 years ago.

Don't mean to be insulting but what you are stating you've done has not been accomplished on the om617a by anyone ever without the use of $500k+ equipment and custom pump elements. In fact the only one to do this to an MW pump in the world is Dieselmeken in Sweden, and he just happens to have 40+ years of experience $1.5m in test equipment and happens to hold 2 diesel speed world records. The internet is chalked full of false information and conjecture passed of as fact. I've done my best to provide the most accurate information I can based on my empirical measurements from what gauges I have avaliable to me. So yeah, unless you can produce some EMPIRICAL DATA to substantiate your incredible claims I call BS. Unless of course your name is Goran and this is a picture of you.

If it helps, the "dont modify your engine" thread in peachparts performance forum was mostly my fault. WARNING, DANGER everyone read this! - PeachParts Mercedes ShopForum we were finally doing **** that was pushing these engines far enough that the mods thought everyone needed a warning.

Hey! I know that guy, i was working with him. he went by om616 in the forum . or was that the guy in michigan that builds pumps.. i dont remember.

Wow great! I bet it got 100mpg too! AND you worked with Goran in Sweden, amazing. Provide proof of your magic screw turning or go troll somewhere else. This topic has been thoroughly covered for many years over many forums.
