How did you join the metal lines? Flaring tool, brazing, rubber hose and clamps? ... In regards to my previous question about the pick up

I left a small piece of the rubber hose as a union with hose clamps.

what would be the easiest way to get the om617 to "roll coal". I don't wanna be " that guy" that goes around blowing smoke everywhere but it would look awesome climbing hills and dumping black smoke. My engine is still in the Mercedes and running so yesterday I took the exhaust loose so its just a straight pipe and I must say it sounds nasty. I really don't want to get into injection pump timing or anything too complicated just wanna know if there's something simple I can do.

do yourself a favor rig up a little button and a water meth injection nozzle and a pump, so when you press the button it sprays a bit of raw fuel on the outside of the hot section of the Turbocharger housing; that should get you the attention you want

Unfortunately there is no easy way to increase the fueling on these pumps. The bottom line is the delivery valves in the pump are just too small at 5mm. To make matters worse the MW pump we got here in the states is specific to this continent. It is possible to get a european M pump readily available over seas fitted with 7.5mm valves but even than it would have to be modified to work on the block end and would be super expensive. The MW pump is a great pump but being a German Bosch there are no builders here that modify them, and since they are fairly unknown overseas they don't work on them over there either....... Except.... For one builder in Sweden who is currently developing some 7.5mm MW pumps. Supposedly 100% more fuel from these pumps at any given rack position. Cost should be $2000 for new pump. Waiting anxiously for this to come to fruition. Every other power mod is almost useless without the needed fuel.

So glad to see that this thread is still going! I have read through most of it and it has cleared up many questions that I had. I have just begun an OM617 swap for my 1997 Wrangler and will definitely be checking in for updates and any questions I may have for you!

You used a different transmission but if I'm using the jeep transmission then the jeeps crank sensor should work with no modification correct?

Just got my jeep back together after paint. While down I changed the expansion valve and drier then recharged the system. Air blows COLD, about 39* at speed and 49* at idle with outside temps of 90*.I can verify the electric fans work great so far. Temp stays exactly the same at idle as it does going down the road, a steady 195*. At idle the fans pull so much heat you can't stand to hold your hand behind the fan.

I've been doing some research on gearing for my swap and with the setup I want I'll be turning 2747 rpm @65.mph. Is that 243 rpm going to be enough to make a noticeable difference? I know the Benz would be turning 3k @65mph. I'll be running 71mph @3000 rpm
