7.3 wont run in the mornings
I have an early 99 250 7.3. It is stock as far as i can tell. When we baught the truck it had 23k on the clocks. We drove it home from houston, bout a thousand miles one way. Didnt have an issue i thought other than takes about 3-7 seconds to fireoff and crank.batteries tested at 13v for one and 12.6 for the other with no load. oil is new and good level fuel is fresh. The problem i am having is that the truck runs fine in the evening, however when i get out early in the morning after a good warm up i leave the driveway and make it less than 1/2 a mile and start losing cylinders. Once i do get the truck re fired i have partial cylinders till i stumble home. i wait all day then get in the truck and it is like it is a different truck... IDK!.. Help me out if you can guys i really dig my truck but i want to work it...Thanks, Ric..
I haven't checked that no, i downloaded a shop manual, as far a clues I have none. I am new to the diesel world, i only checked my oil level(new) water at the bottom of the filter i might have had some which i drained and my batteries. As for the cps, i really dont know the procedure to check that. How and what is that procedure..? Thanks, Ric
the guy we baught the truck from said they had replaced all the injecters over the past year also a few of the sensors, they replaced the ecu and also cut the ccat on the truck, i have just replaced the oil today filled up and a filter change. the problem only happens after the truck sits all night, it also only started happening after i let the tank run almost completly empty of fuel, since then every morning the truck dies after a short stroll down the road! Fo figure , thanks Ric..
