Default problem with idle on 12v cummins

got this problem on my 98 12v cummins have to idle it up to 900 then when put in gear drops to 650-700 falls on its face with ac on has new injection pump by industrial injection and cant figure out why it does this injectors replaced with 300hp ones and it still does this any ideas really starting to bug me is there some ajustment i dont know about also has 3000 gov spring in the pump help please??????

there is a way to turn you idle up. i am no 12 valve tech but someone should be able to tell you exactly how to adjust it.

yeh i turned it up that how i get it to run but dont think i should have to turn it up that high to get it to idle in gear so yeh got me baffled

I've heard having your gov springs too loose will cause a low idle issue. Idle should be 750-800 in drive with the a/c on.

Loosen your governor springs a click and adjust your idle back up to compensate. That should help with light load responce. If it does not go another click, but do not go looser than three clicks in.

ok is the governor spring the one with the nut on it on the back side of the anorod?

No, the governor springs can be accessed through the top of the pump if you pull out the fuel plate or through the plug on the side towards the bottom of the pump.

If you or some one you know have not messed with the governor DONT. One mistake and you buy a pump or worse an engine. I hate to see you with a pile of parts.
