Default 2002 F-250 hpop 7.3

I am just wondering if i can get a rebuild kit to rebuild my HPOP or if i have to buy a whole HPOP. I had the backside of the pump blowout and had one of the piston type heads break and a couple of the springs got a little tweeked. The dealership wants 900 bucks they can kiss my you know what and my neighbor is sponsered by industrial injection tractor pulling his dodge and says he could get me one remaned for just under 800. EBAY has some for about 400 but this close to christmas i would rather spend as little cash as possible. thanks for any advice anybody can give me.

I'm sure you can find a rebuild kit out there. It's gonna take some leg work on your end though... Luckily, the 7.3 was installed in alot of medium duty diesel trucks and school buses. I believe it was called the DT444 by international. I would start with commercial injection rebuilders. I know it's a high pressure oil pump but, since it drives the injectors I'm sure they have replaced and rebuilt them. The trick is to find a shop that is just as happy selling you the parts as rebuilding it for you.

Stealth Pumps

There are a couple good pumps that are an upgrade from stock.

In your link it says there is a core charge, and the pumps are rebuilt. I'm pretty sure you cannot have a re-built pump for sale without a re-build kit somewhere along the way...
