Default Smoke Fines In New York

Today I had 4 diesel pickups towed in to shop the were impounded and fined for bellowing black smoke. The fines were $250.00 for the first offense and can reach up to $10,000.

I was totally shocked that there were going after the smaller trucks.

The officer that was doing the ticketing was in an unmarked car.

So watch out!!!!

Glad I live down here where you dont see that to often. I don't think I have even heard of anybody down here getting a ticket for that.

This is the second time that have seen this. According to the officer, all states will be starting this very soon.

New trucks come with DPF's = no smoke or soot output.

wow.. Good thing there are no emissions testing here.. we the people voted that crap out several years ago..

yeah my friend got one here in Ohio but that was because of it being right outside columbus and his truck smokes like freight train

After talking with the officer, I found out that he was a federal agent and this is a new federal program that is being implemented. If the states do not comply with this program, they will loose a large portion of there states federal highway money.

If what this agent told me is true, the states will have no control over this.
