I had a 06 LLY with a EFIlive, i accidentally toasted my rings when writin a tune.. IIRC my EGTs w peaked @ 1900....

Sure was nice to see that Blue Harley Davidsson with his fancy 500hp tune all covered by the black smoke from my exhaust...

But that nasty sound when i let off the pedal..... it still sits in my head...

I was going for the 7.1 SoCal until economy crisis hit Iceland...

 

They haven't been very many piston failures on canned tunes. Really you don't have a lot to worry about until your getting close to 500 HP.

 

By canned tune do you mean production tune? Sorry I am just getting used to the lango.
