She Gave Up The Ghost

Well last Wednesday she gave up the ghost, apparantly a cracked piston is the cause. I will know more when we have time to pull the motor. I let my brother borrow it while I worked on his mega cab and left the race tune in it...Bad move I guess. He dropped it off and gave me the keys and I go to get in it in the shop parking lot at around 10 p.m. and it started shaking and blowing white smoke. I got the EFI out and it showed P0303 which is the common denominator with cracked piston #3. Only 43K on it and only 7k with a trans and any kind of race tune. I suggest all 06-up LLY/LBZ back down the power if you don't want this to happen, cause it will.

It will be up with a small build soon, not sure all the details, but better than stock:U:

We'll see what we find, if the block is salvageable, most likely SoCal LB7 pistons that I have in the shop soon find a home, studs, rods and maybe a Cheatah if it's in the budget. Not sure yet on all details, haven't got to the problem yet...My Mechanic is out on sick leave for the next week, and I don't have much time to mess with it.

Sorry To Hear Man, As My Auto Professor Always Told Me - Better To Build It Better, Then To Wish You Did.

Sorry to hear that, but I would be willing to bet your brother wasn't exactly being easy on it. Have you asked him what happened?

It's one thing when your not easy on your own stuff but it's a whole nother ball game when it's somebody else hammerin it. If they're gonna help pay the piper when the times due then beat away. Just always seem like the borrowers of the world are out a town when it comes time for the pay back.

That seems to be the case doesn't it?
