Yeah, I wouldn't go messing around with those hoses. They provide a small amount of vacuum to the crankcase to limit oil leaks. If you have a bunch of oily slime you'll need to either replace or clean your CDR valve (tuna can on the front pass side of motor). To clean it, just take it off and wash it out with either diesel fuel or gasoline, then let it dry. Repeat the process a few times til the "solvent" comes out clean. If the diaphragm inside is bad, you'll need a new one. If so, let me know and I'll find a part number and maybe a CDR in your area.
