Default excessive oil from breather

I recently noticed an oil leak from the front of my motor and found the catch can or breather can from the front engine cover was cracked so for a temp fix I just put a little K&N breather filter on a straight piece of hose but I am noticing a lot of oil soaking the filter and now dripping out of it so it just seems like way more oil than should be normal. Any ideas? The truck runs great and is a 01 mostly stock with 150k

Looks like you have a bunch of blow by. Try the tea kettle test with the oil cap. If it trys to blow the cap out of the hole it would be one of two things. 1. You have a bad ring/s 2. (this happened to me) your vacuum pump is blowing air into the engine thus blowing it out of the breather tube.
