Default starting issues

First off thanks to everyone that helped me figure out the issues with my 4wd its working properly now but now I have a new issue, there is a certain trick to starting my truck and I told my brother to go get it started and forgot he doesn't know the trick so he cranked it nonstop until the brand new (less than 2 months old) batteries were dead well I charged em back up and when to start it and now I just a click more like a clang, sounds like metal hitting metal and nothing else my question is what did my brother screw up? Did he fry the starter? Or jam it? Or something else?

Low batteries will murder our starters and or the solenoids first have batteries load tested if they are good have the starter bench tested

Might have chewed out the ring gear or starter drive?

Let us know before you toss the match. Most of the issues on 6.5's are maintenance issues

Do as suggested, charge disconnect and load test the batteries. And then bench test the starter. If you have a good rebuilder nearby, go that route

All that cranking may have also overheated the cables. Take a look at them while you are there.

Somebody has a very nice battery cable kit for the 6.5's. Heavy duty. It's a good upgrade, Even if you are not having issues
