Default 93 Cummins trouble starting

Hello, I’ve got a 93 cummins 4x4, extended cab, automatic that’s getting real close to 200K miles, no mods. She’s in great shape. I get offers to sell her every time I take it out. I’ll try and post some pics. Whenever I pull a trailer or put my camper in the back. It seems to have difficulty starting after I shut it down from a hour or so of driving. At first I thought it was electrical but this past time it turned over and over before starting after sitting overnight from a trip hauling my tractor 60 miles. It has also has lost idle at stop lights and I’ve had to put it in neutral and rev it up to keep it running. This started 4 years ago but it only happened one time in the mountains after driving on a 4x4 trail (marked it up as altitude) More recently it doing it every time after hauling a load but it does seem to be creeping into every day driving.( a slight pause or dragging sound when starting) I’ve changed the fuel filter, air filter and recently bought a new battery. I want to keep this truck going and I don’t have any problem doing some preventative work to catch any repairs that are typical at the level of mileage. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks!

The slight pause or dragging durring starting could be just a starter or batt cable poor/dirty connection.
I would seriously suggest getting some gauges so you can see the fuel pressure, boost and EGT especially when towing.
I would check your fuel lift pump for sure.
The P7100 injection pump is pretty bulletproof but you would not want it starving for fuel.

With out gauges it hard to be accurate about the lift pump supply pressure. Ideally you should plumb in a "T" fitting and hook a 0-30 psi wet gauge up.
But just to make sure the pump is at least running and supplying fuel, you can crack the bleeder line or the output line from the lift pump, cycle the key switch and see how much fuel comes out.
Caution this will be a messy job and I would do it on a spot that you don't mind getting diesel everywhere!!
I have copied some work repair information and engine fuel related component locations for you.
