I would bump it back to stock, but you would have more timing on the top end.

yes the shim and spacer keep the stock spring tension to retain stock dynamic timing function. you do not need a longer spring, you could only gain .4mm more travel with a different spring and the time envested in it might not be worth the gain, it could.

and on a turned up truck with stock injectors, 366 spring and an M3 fuel pin, gained 20hp with the spacer installed.
spings are different tenstions i think, non i/c might be weaker.

My pump does not have a KSB. Will the Spacer still work on this pump ok?

it may not have the "ksb" but it should still have something for the dynamic timing advance i imagine. it may be just a cover in place of the ksb. send a PM to Alwaysworking he might be able to iron it out for you
