Wire in some type of warning light to remind you that it is locked. It can and has caused the engine to stall at idle.

I installed anATS Copilot, Love it!! Yes it was pricey but I don't have to worry about upshifting/downshifting being locked up,hurting parts. Nice for coasting down hills,keeps the converter locked no freewheel,fuel milage went up,I have 4.10 gears so to have lockup& overdrive@30 mph this keeps my r's down,don't need 1500-1600 rs' @ 35mph.
