would go for airdog or fass with filters, as they filtrate better.

 

I always thought that the draw straw was for in tank pumps I as well no draw straw no issues

 

When I was calling different companies shopping for a lift pump a couple years ago I was told pumps under 150gph no draw straw needed, 150-200 it is recommended, and over 200 was a must. They said at high flow the factory pickup would restict the flow and cause strain on the pump leading to shorter pump life. Maybe not true but thats what I was told.
