93 Lift Pump @ 10-14 PSI or 96 Lift Pump @ 6-8 PSI? Help Please...
I have a 96 K3500 with 200K miles and I am about to get into replacing some items for maintenance etc... One of the items to be replaced is the Lift Pump. It is a little noisy now, but is working.
I had a 97 Burb and was advised here to replace it with a lift pump from a 93 since they ran at a higher pressure it would "help" the IP do its job.
I did some searching and have found some threads that support using the ones from the 93 in the 96 and others that say it will make no difference. I am not expecting a power increase - just want to get whichever one will be best for my truck.
So what do you think - which one? (Looking at Bosch Lift Pumps)
A: 93 Lift Pump 10-14 PSI
B: 96 Lift Pump 6-8 PSI
Thank you for your help and input.

I had read one post that said the IP is internally regulated to a set PSI and that the running of the 93 lift pump could harm it? That was the reason I asked.
Wasn't sure if something had changed since I had put one on my 97 Burb.
Thank you for your recommendation.
