My truck is in need of a transmission and i was wanting to get your thoughts on what kind i should get that will hold up to some future performance upgrades. Thanks

goerend... or talk to mighty diesel about a vannest trans .. here there affordable and very well built.. he is gonna do mine any month now when i get the money

Are you asking about a manual or an automatic? If auto, I've heard nothing but good about Goerend.
