I have a 2006 dodge cummins with the auto trans. I cant get it to shift out of first gear except when ever it feals like it. it will shift out of first at high rpm but not every time. I checked tranny fluid it is red and does not smell burnt. ANY IDEAS PLEASE

 

My 06 did that at 40k km. Sent it back for warranty, they had to replace it. Said it was fubar'd. I would definately not be driving it till ya get it sorted.

My brother's did the same thing and it was a selenoid - have to drop the pan to change but are cheap on ebay. (around $70 get both)
