bored and lonely but seriously i think he was just messin with ya... although getting down on the ground to look under the truck is a little bit A-typical... when i think of an officer i think of someone with a moist towlette in his back pocket... not someone that'll get on the ground... in uniform...

I was always told that if your exhaust or window tint was questionable, that when you pull over shut the engine off and roll down the offending windows. Why push their buttons by leaving it idle? I've talked with a lot of different people about getting pulled over by police, it seems to me that though there are exceptions, they are usually nice unless you are a hardass to them. I know all the cops in this one horse town, but I've been pulled over in cities before and never got a ticket or harassed like that.

I think its more about the respect and authority thing. Cartman put it right....I'm a cop and You'll respect my authority. They put their pants on the same way we do. When people constantly give these guys a hard time for just doing their job, I'd say it's a little easier to bully the victims of your traffic stop

Exactly what you said, I have DARK windows by some peoples standards, but light by mine. I also have a stereo that is usually played at volumes above legal levels, and my exhaust is louder than it should be. I shut the engine off, put the keys in the passenger seat, roll down my front windows (only ones that they have limits on here), and turn the radio off (or the the cops song ). I then proceed to keep my hands visible. I want him/her to be as comfortable as possible. I ended up talking pistols with the last one to pull me over. They're going from 40S&W to 45ACP

Well.... He just called me back an hour ago and informed me he called Reed Chrysler which is a city away from me and I know the techs there, anywho he told me I NEEDED to have a cat put on the truck ASAP! Soooooo, I call Reed back that instant and asked them the same question and they informed me he called but didn't have the vin for my truck to do a search so the service guy who I know (asshat #2) told him they did come with one. (SO and cali trucks did, but mines an HO!) So I gave him my vin and told him my truck was NOT equiped with one he informed me that the part number for the exhaust with cat was blanked out on the computer search. But he told me to call back in an hour so he could do some more in depth searching.

And yes indeed he crawled under my truck on the driver and passenger side without backup. He even informed me of my exhaust leak that I repaired last month with a new clamp

Good choice. I've never been overly impressed with the .40 Short & Weak. Now the 10mm Auto the .40 was parented from is a darned impressive cartridge!

Thinkin back on the initial stop now, another thing that pissed me off was that he just opened the back door on the passenger side of my truck without permission. He was checkin to see if the rears were factory tint, but who knows what else his motives were to just opening the door and moving some of my stuff to get closer to the rear window of the truck. Is that even legal to do?

OK I have respect for those who put on a badge and patrol the roads. But this particular HP doesn't he have more important things to do?? Window tinting no front license plate big deal. Go after the drunks
The only good that is going to come out of this is he is never going to bother looking under a dodge Ram looking for a cat again
