strange noise... need help
thanks guys for all your help but i know it's not the power steering pump being low because i just topped the fluid when i bought the truck and the sound is alot different then a power steering pump low on fluid. it's definetly a boost leak somewhere by i cant find it
my pops who drives semi's for a living says it's either vacuum leak or boost so the search continues

boost prob seeing how it is when you drive if it was vacum leak it would make the noise all the time not just driving so spray all of your boots with starter fluid and around your intake housing and see if it changes idle speed if it does its sucking air
I had totally forgot about that trick... thanks so much for that reminder!!!

[QUOTE=tpa_98Ram;588893]well I finally figured it out!
It was the four bolts on the intake manifold they were loose for whatever reason. stupid stuff you find when you buy a truck thats been messed with.[/
Do you know how many pounds of boost you were getting? Mine started doing the same thing.
