well finnally gettin round to getting this thing fixed..(I GOT SOME MONEY) LOL..gonna order the gauges but 1st i read on another site a guy used a 50 ohm resistor..my question is the 3 wires that go to the oil sending unit.thats how many prongs there is..which ones do i use? i did buy a new switch but its doubtfull its the right one..it cost 200 bucks and i dont want to find out its the wrong one and not be able to take it back...or have it fail again down the road..i know i could call cummins with the serial # of the motor but i dont want to spend anything on something thats gonna break down again..

so its fixed now..600 miles and running like a charm..just a note for those who may incounter this prob..cummins parts #'s oil switch 4076930 and adapter cable # 3164757 (for a ford wiring harness) a 100 dollars more then the dodge cable #3164755..i ended up getting the dodge harness thx to the dummies who sell these DUMMY SWITCHs..cause thats all it does is fool the puter..that was the hardest part convinceing the parts person that my problem was the oil switch..

the differance bewtween the 2 cables is a male for the ford and a female pin for the connector on a dodge..i just changed the connector to a male and saved myself 100$ there..1 1/4" socket to get the old one out btw so all told 35$ for parts and 14$ for the socket..now i got real gauges to install and no more oil switch issues...they wanted as high as 400$ for a new switch that read the pressure (3 prong)..i never cleared the trouble codes
