Default 2001 auto cummins shifting issues

I have a 2001 with an automatic transmission with shifting issues. When driving at low speed and a steady pace, it gets jerky like it is shifting up and down. you have to step on the pedal to get it to stop and then once you get at a steady pace again it starts all over. Can't drive on back roads without it being a pain. Any ideas on what the issue could be? Thanks!

Sounds like torque converter locking up and releasing try wrapping the wire coming off your negative battery cable on the passenger side in tin foil and electrical tape the cable runs to your alternator if I remember right mine did this same thing and someone told me to do this and it worked it

You might want to get you alternator tested. It can lead to issues in the future. I admit I am guilty of the bandaid fix too. I have heard of people losing their ECM because of the AC noise generated by the alternator. Also clean and check your battery terminals this will help as well.

I did all of the above to no avail. A BD noise isolator fixed my 98.5 auto.

I did the BD noise isolator first and it didn't fix mine. Covering every ground wire on the passenger side of the truck with aluminum foil seems to have done the truck though.
