transmission help
I have a 1998.5 dodge 2500 24 valve with 75 horse injectors and a edge juice with attitude hot unlock. And I'm looking to upgrade to a new transmission. I have a slightly built one now but it's starting to slip and mess up what would be a good transmission for me?
Don't know where you're located but I highly recomend a rebuild by Tim Barber at TRE Diesel Performance in Norfolk, Va. I had him rebuild mine in my 98.5 this past Thursday. He guarantees what he calls a base 47RE to hold 500 rear wheel horsepower and includes a billet single disc converter. He had two other guys working on mine with him & they work together as efficiently as a NASCAR pitcrew. Pulled it on the lift at 4:30 pm & I was headed home at 9:50 pm. Even painted the case and made it look like a brand new one.
As long as the case isn't cracked it's worth rebuilding. Call Tim & he'll tell you exactly what you need 757-831-7451. Just curious if you've put yours on a dyno & if so what did it put down? I'm thinking about changing mine to the exact same setup you're running.
Thanks man I appreciate the help. And I've never had it on a dyno. But if I was you go with a bigger turbo. Cause all mine does is blow smoke now. I'm looking into turbos now but I need to get my transmission back going again.
