Hi guys, I need some help. I have a 2001 Cummins that I put in a 99 ram v10. The trans in the old truck was going so I had the engine put in this 99. This new trans isn't doing much better than the old one so im in need of some help. it wont shift into O/D for a long time when im driving and when it does, it doesn't seem to go fully into overdrive. sometimes it will go fully into drive but most times its like it isn't locking in or something. now if someone knows what it might be besides sticky valves or solenoids, id appreciate the help!
also I was curious to see if itd be worth putting in an Allison tranny? if so what one and what would I need?

If you went with an allison you will have to look at getting a mounting plate, trans, trans computer, and possibly a drive shaft. I think a rebuild would be much easier. From your post it looks like you put a good motor on a bad trans. If thats the case theres your problem.

 

I had the same problem and fixed it with the installation of the BD Banks Triple lock torque converter, no more searching and pulling a trailer at 11,400 lbs never have to take it out of overdrive unless going down a steep hill love it.
