I think its a leak. Even if your wastegate froze up it would've happen while the truck was turned off. So it would've froze closed. Letting you build a lot of boost. Definitely a leak.

I think so too I actually came across a new problem today I have something wobbling in my right rear tire like a bent axle or hub bearing or something so I have to figure that out too now

Is there a turn buckle on the waste gate? The wastegate will open without something holding it closed until more boost comes up. If it had one, mabe it worked loose and fell off.

where would it be at? near the wastegate?

Yes, on my 02 I put one on it and it goes on the back side at the wastegate arm. It is hard to see it and it is between the turbo and manifold.

do they all have a turn buckle? because i didnt see one on my truck or is it something someone would have had to add?

The turn buckle is an aftermarket idea to get more boost out of the hy35/9 stock turbo, on the 01 and 02 auto trucks.
