Default filter delete

iv seen a lot of fuel filter delete kits for the common rails but none for the vp 24v's i was just wondering why because i would like to delete mine my air dog is bypassing the housing anyway so no fuel heater so i wouldn't see why i would miss it . Any input from someone who has done this would be gratefully appreciated stupid question i guess

I personally kept mine for 2 reasons.

1. The fuel heater since my winter temps are as low as -20*F to -30*F in the dead of winter.
2. The extra filter even though I'm using a 3 micron Donaldson filter on the AirDog 150 the stock filter still gets darken over a period of 50K miles. So I consider it a secondary catch all filter protecting my $1,000 dollar VP44. More filtration is better than not enough. Even CR owners typically run a double stacked filter setup to protect their $3,000 to $4,000 dollar injectors.

Suggestion if it was me I would keep it. Because even with mine I only see about 1-2 PSI drop from Idle to WOT...

I kept mine for the same reasons, but will be removing mine. I will loose an extra layer of protection, but will have a fuel heater. I bought the electric fuel heater for the FASS pump.

No kit is required. Just unplug the WIF, and fuel heater, unbolt the housing, and away you go.

Those look like feed and return. The VP44 engine has an independent fuel return circuit. The return from the VP tees into the return from the head, and from there it has its own line back to the tank. That is why a kit isn't needed.

Yep, there is no fuel flow through it right now. Chances are its half empty, if not completely empty right now.

Do I still have to fill the holes with bolts?

Yes, with shorter bolts. The bolts that hold the assy on also hold down the intake plate. Without the bolts replaced, the plate gasket may pop out.
