Default Lower EGT's please

Greetings, I'm looking for the best and most cost effective way to lower EGT's while hauling. As of now I do not have too much trouble with temps while pulling my boat(4500lbs). Looks like a may be adding an old school camper( circa 1978-made of lead, bricks, and concrete) I just know its heavy and will be acting like a sail.
Ready for suggestions to get temps down. I appreciate the input.

Colt stage 3 (BigStick) Camshaft will make a significant difference for the price. If that is a bit to complicated, a bigger turbo will work as well. Turbo will likely cost more money, unless you did a HX35/40 Hybrid kit.

______

35's are adding a bunch rolling resistance. Like myself I went the opposite direction small lighter wheel and tires. Less face on the ground less rolling resistance. Less tire mass and weight less rotational mass to sling around the axle.

Cold air intake won't do much. Being the discharge temp of the turbo will be 300-400*F before entering the intercooler. So the intercooler has more to do with intake temps.

120 HP injectors a bit big for towing application. Like RAW suggested you could go bigger in the turbo and or cam. But I would suggest backing down from the 120's and dropping to 75 HP or so. Much more controllable.

Like myself. I've got no problem hauling my RV/Utility Trailer over the steeps grades of Idaho.

I've often wondered why I never hear about anyone upgrading intercoolers in here.

Likely because they are well over $1000, and a stock air to air will get you 600HP.

I have 150HP injectors, tow a 38' Holiday trailer weighing 12,000lbs with 35" rubber and my EGT's rarely ever break 1200*. Granted I have compound, Cam, and a bunch of other goodies.

Replacing your injectors again will cost the same, if not more, than going to a HX35/40 Hybrid. I believe the Hybrid will give you the best of both worlds. A reduction in EGT's, increase in power, and minimal drivability difference.

And if one were to be in the market for a HX35/40 where would one locate?

Ask the Vendors in the Price Quote section, they will likely get you the best price.

Here is a link to one:

Stage 3 Power Compressor Upgrade w/60mm Wheel 95-02 Dodge Cummins

It isn't for your exact truck, but very similar.

high tech turbo sells some great turbos, they have a 35/40 or you can upgrade your 35 with their parts, i you do upgrade watch your boost, without studs i wouldnt go much above 35-40 psi to keep the headgasket in place
