Default Starting issues

Alright guys about a week ago I went to start my truck up and it was like there was nothing there. Almost like the batteries were dead. Backed off on the key and tried again. Started right up. It's done the same thing 3 more times now.
If I try and start it sometimes it'll fire right up and sometimes the first time I go to start it, it's like theres nothing there, it'll click but not fire. Back off on the key and try again it'll fire.

Fuel PSI is normal, sitll has the normal amount of power.
Could it be starter or something simpler?
Checked for codes the other day and didn't have anything either.

Does the dash light up and go through all of its normal checks? Everything else come on? If so sounds like contacts in your starter. I had a problem starting my old 98.5 where everything was working except the starter occasionally. Sometimes it would take 2 minutes to get it too start. Ordered contacts and a new plunger, pulled the starter and my contacts were almost gone so replaced them to see if itd work and the starter worked like brand new.

Here's that website for Larry b's. you'll see starter contacts and plunger about half way down the page with the starters

yeah everything else is normal. Doesn't even seem to matter if its cold or warm. It'll just make a click and won't do anything else, then if I turn the key off and try again it'll fire.

Sounds like exactly what mine did. I'd replace the contacts and plunger, or at least pull your starter and check out the condition of them in your solenoid. Bet that's your issue though. 20 bucks for that kit is much better than a $400+ starter

Starter is getting rebuilt tomorrow. Hopefully that'll take care of it.
