I only said give it a try if the thing ran away and you were not ready or unprepared. I didn't mean do it as a rule.

i can see that... if you catch it early enough in its run away i'm sure it'd be possible with minor if any ill results... it should be pretty easy to catch up to, it they run away at idle they tend to climb slowly; not sky rocket... however if your in the high rpms and it stick in the high rpms then decides to start climbing... find some ***** and bend over the intake hose as best as you can; should make it spit and sputter and keep it from blowing apart. best bet is to be prepared when your doing fuel mods
